Airdrie Utd 2-2 Brechin- Report

Brechin earned a valuable point in their promotion push as they drew 2-2 with Airdrie.

The away side denied Airdrie the chance to take all three points with an equaliser coming in the 87th minute.

Both sides tried their luck from long range in the first half with little success before substitute Andrew Ferguson opened the scoring for Airdrie three minutes into the second half when he converted Edward Forrest's cross.

That lead lasted little over a minute, though, as Neil Janczyk scored an equaliser for Brechin direct from a free-kick.

Forrest then put the home side back in front six minutes later when he fired home from inside the box.

Forrest's goal looked like it was going to be the winner before Paul McLean unleashed a left-footed strike from 20 yards that sailed into the top right of the goal three minutes from time to steal a point for Brechin.
