Andy Smith celebrates Clyde's 4th goal, and his 2nd..
Brechin didn't finish off on the high note they wanted, but Clyde could not be stopped because if they won, and Inverness slipped up to St Johnstone, they knew the cup would be flown to Glebe Park, but it wasn't to be..

Brechin started with a 4-3-3 formation, with Kevin Budinauckas starring in goal for the last time as he will not be offered a new contract. Campbell experimented with the defence as Kevin McLeish started in right back, while Andy Dowie, who was also playing his last game for Brechin started alongaside Davie White in the centre of defence. Roddy Black played in left back as club captain Paul Deas was relegated to the bench. While the midfield consisted of Grant Johnson, Charlie King and Craig Winter. Chris Templeman, Steven Hampshire (Just back from injury) and the in-form Graham Gibson started upfront.

There was a party atmosphere inside Glebe Park and the Clyde fans were celebrating earlier than expected when Paddy Keogh nodded into the net with 2 minutes gone after some terrible defending.

The game was over as a contest after 20 minutes as Keogh added a 2nd goal as stand in keeper Kevin Budinauckas could only parry a McConalogue shot, the ball went straight to Keogh as he slotted into the roof of the net.

Clyde quickly added a 3rd just 6 minutes later when Andy Smith nodded Kevin Fotheringhams free kick into the net. Charlie King hobbled off just minutes later and he was replaced by fans favorate Scott McCulloch.

News filtered through that St Johnstone was holding Inverness to a 1-1 draw as Keigan Parker cancelled out Binghams opener. If the results stayed like this, Clyde would win the championship and the fans kept singing during the break.

The second half was the same as some slack Brechin defending gifted Clyde a 4th goal as Pat Keogh headed into the path of Andy Smith, who nodded it in from close range. But the celebrations were cancelled out as Clyde fans heard the news that Barry Wilson had put Inverness 2-1 ahead from the penalty spot.

Things just got worse for Clyde as news filtered through that Glebe Park bound Paul Ritchie added a 3rd goal for Inverness from a header, the cup was almost certainly heading for the highland capital.

But Clyde kept plugging away and added another goal as Paddy Keogh completed his hat trick by nut-megging a defender then slotting it into the near corner, much to the fans delight, as that looked to be Keogh's last game for Clyde, as he is set for a move to newly promoted Hamilton in the summer.

But Brechin pulled one back as Graham Gibson was pushed to the ground in the box. Chris Templeman stepped up for the spot kick and slotted it into the bottom corner, despite Bryn Halliwell getting a touch to it.

Brechin finished their season in division 1 with another goal from Chris Templeman, he latched on to a long ball while the last Clyde defender fell to the ground, "Sanny" kept going and smashed it in off the post.

The Clyde fans invaded the pitch afterwards despite them missing out on the title, showing how grateful they are for a great season.

The results elsewhere does mean Inverness Caledonian Thistle have lifted the 1st division title, of which has been a very successful season for the highlanders, winning the Bell's Challenge Cup, advancing to the semi finals of the Scottish Cup, which they lost to Dunfermline and finally lifting the title they deserve.

BCR's MoM- Despite only being on the field for 53 minutes, Scott McCulloch did a great job tying all the loose ends Brechin had left in the first half.

In other news, Hamilton Academical have grabbed the second promotion spot, capitalising on Morton's massive slip up which has seen them drop from 12 points clear at the top at Christmas to 4th place in the table, behind Dumbarton.
