Raith had an injury before the kick-off as Joaquin Bornes had to pull out of the game as he pulled a muscle in the warm-up. So player-manager Antonio Calderon had to promote himself from the subs bench to the first team to take his place.
Brechin axed first team goalkeeper Davie Hay after conceding 5 goals against Falkirk 2 1/2 weeks ago, and his place went to Kevin Budinaukas. Scott McCulloch, Marc Millar and Stevie Hampshire took the places of the injured Chris Templeman, Grant Johnson and Gavin Beith.
Just 12 minutes into the game there was more injuries, as Davie White and Paquito clashed heads, David managed to walk off the pitch, but had to go to Hospital as he had a deep gash on his head. Paquito had to be stretchered off after receiving treatment for the back of his head, and was taken to Ninewells Hospital suffering from concussion.
The visitors had by far the better 1st half, and deservedly went ahead when Antonio Calderon fired a free kick past Kevin Budinaukas, who was at fault for the goal, as the ball seemed to go straight through his arms.
Kevin Budinaukas later made ammends for his earlier mistake by making some superb point blank saves from Lloyd Young and Ramon Pereira.
Brechin should have levelled a minute from half time as Darryl Duffy was played through on goal by Ally Mitchell, but lobbed the ball straight at Berthelot.
Brechin improved in the second half and their pressure paid off when Darryl Duffy glanced and Marc Millar free kick into the corner.
Rovers came close to taking the lead when a Sebastian Ferriero header came off the bar and was turned in by Pereira, but the goal was chalked off for offside.
Raith continued to press for the winner but was unable to find the net as young substitute John Boyle fired wide of the post.
Dick Campbell felt Brechin were lucky to come away with the point, but had they lost, there would be a large mountain to climb!

BCR's MoM- Charlie King- There wasn't much good performers on the field last night, but Charlie King made some superb mazy runs through the Rovers defence like they weren't there! Put in some crunching tackles and simply had the desire to win this game.
