Away Day Review

The Ground?

Despite the fact it took hours to get down to Dumfries, this was an interesting ground to visit and it was my first time down at Palmerston. The City fans were allocated half of The Galloway News Stand (East Stand) and it the admission prices were £12 for adults and £6 for juveniles, which is reasonable for this division. Despite the fact there was only 40 odd City supporters, we got our own snack bar and toilets. Most of the Queens fans stood behind the goal to our right hand side, while there were a fair few in the ageing Main Stand, while the terracing to our left hand side was unused for some strange reason.

The Programme?

Not the best I have bought, certainly doesn't beat The Spire anyway! It cost £2.00, which is 50p more than City's programme and had far less pages, far less content and far more advertisements. It also had very little colour, and when there was colour used it was mainly in the adverts, apart from the 2-page spread of action pictures in the middle.

The Pie?

Absolutely perfect, one of the best I have ever sampled following Brechin. The pie was hot (Take note Montrose), the base and crust was crispy and the inside was packed full of meat, and wasn't greasy. I'd certainly give the pie 10/10.
