Brechin V Ayr at Glebe Park - Match Preview

Home truths await Brechin

Brechin full-back Jonathan Brown will be absent against Ayr at Glebe Park due to a knee problem.

Manager Ray McKinnon is glad of home comforts after away defeats at St Mirren and Queen of the South ended his unbeaten start to his time in charge at the club.

McKinnon said: "It's good to be at Glebe again and while we lost in the Scottish Cup and to the league leaders there was plenty to be happy about. We're still on the right track to have a good season and a win against Ayr gets us going again.

"Although it won't be easy as they're a very good side going forward and will be smarting after losing a two-goal lead last week to East Fife."

Ayr have defender Austin McCann back in their squad after injury and striker Mark Shankland is also available following illness.

Long-term injured pair Martyn Campbell and Michael McGowan remain sidelined with manager Mark Roberts looking for his men to bounce back from their last-gasp 3-2 defeat to East Fife last Saturday.

Roberts said: "That was a sore one to take as not only was it a late goal, we had played really well for the vast majority of the game.

"It was so disappointing to have nothing to show for it, but we know that if we can hit that standard again and keep it going we will climb the Second Division table.

"Brechin will be tough but we're looking to win the game."
