Brechin V Ayr at Glebe Park - Match Preview

Molloy missing for Brechin

Craig Molloy is the only absentee for Brechin against Ayr as the midfielder continues to be troubled by a knee injury.

The Glebe Park side host their first home match since the first Saturday in January and they are looking to put pressure on Alloa, who sit 10 points clear in second but have played four games more, by defeating the Honest Men.

Despite winning nine out of their last 12 games, manager Ray McKinnon is not taking things for granted, saying: "Ayr have strengthened their pool recently with a number of experienced players and they have not given up hope of getting into the play-offs themselves.

"They will view winning at our place as a great opportunity to give their hopes a huge boost."

Ayr striker Liam Buchanan is available after suspension, but he may have to content himself with a place on the bench.

The Honest Men thumped Albion Rovers 5-2 in Buchanan's absence with Michael Moffat grabbing a hat-trick and Michael Donald a double, and Somerset Park boss Mark Roberts is looking for his men to build on that showing.

Roberts said: "The performance against Albion Rovers has been a long time coming, but it was what I have been looking for from an Ayr United side all season.

"The last time we played Brechin was back in September but we have changed our team around since then and they have done well under a new manager, so this meeting will have a lot of freshness."
