Brechin V Forfar at Glebe Park - Match Preview

City looking strong for derby clash

Brechin have a full squad for their Angus derby with visitors Forfar.

Winger Derek Carcary is in line for a starting place after a matchwinning performance as a substitute in midweek against Albion Rovers.

Recently appointed manager Ray McKinnon, who has led the Glebe Park side to three league wins from his four games in charge, said: "Derek was excellent when after he came off the bench on Tuesday night.

"He had been carrying a knock that he is over now so he is very much in my thoughts for a starting place.

"This will be a really tough game as just a few weeks ago Forfar were six places ahead of us and now if we win with the correct score we would go above them."

Forfar will give late fitness tests to Stephen Tulloch, Danny Denholm and Chris Templeman before manager Dick Campbell finalises his side.

However, Michael Dunlop is banned following his sending-off in the 5-1 defeat to Queen of the South in midweek and injuries will keep Derek Soutar, Odmar Faeroe and Keith Gibson on the sidelines.

Campbell said: "Brechin have responded well to the change in manager and they will see this game as a real opportunity to test their improvement.

"We are looking to bounce back from the Queen of the South defeat in a game that was ruined by an early sending off and a penalty.

"If we can get the players through their fitness tests we will be a stronger side."
