Brechin V Queen of South at Glebe Park - Match Preview

Molloy misses out for Brechin

Brechin will be without Craig Molloy (knee) against runaway leaders Queen of the South should their pitch at Glebe Park survive a noon pitch inspection.

Jonathan Brown is also a doubt with an ankle injury as manager Ray McKinnon looks for revenge over the only side he has lost against in the Second Division since he took charge.

McKinnon said: "We want this game to be on as we have more games to play than any side as it is already.

"Queen's beat us 1-0 at their place and they are the best team in this league and are deserved leaders but it would be great if we could keep the fantastic run we have been on going by winning this one."

Queen of the South striker Derek Lyle is a doubt after sustaining a leg knock in Saturday's 3-0 win over Albion.

That win put the Dumfries side into a 21-point lead, but player-manager Allan Johnston is staying grounded - a manner he has adopted all season.

The Palmerston Park boss said: "We have only ever concentrated on the next game and that is at Brechin and is a really hard one.

"They have been flying under Ray McKinnon, so we will have to play well to take anything from it.

"The game we won against them at our place was a really difficult encounter and this one will be as well, especially as the pitch will be very heavy."
