Buckie's chances of a surprise result were hampered by the absence of the cup-tied Shawn Scott and Gary Clark, the suspended Graeme Stewart and Ian Murray, who had other work commitments.
In contrast, three influential players were able to start for Brechin - fit-again midfielder Byers, defender Gerry McLauchlan and striker McAllister, the latter two facing a league suspension after midweek dismissals.
